Goals

I have always been a person who creates goals. Every day I scribble on various post-it notes and notebooks daily goals, monthly goals, even life goals.

My personal goals usually aren’t the first thing that comes to mind, usually I make goals for one day at a time but in such a pivotal moment in life I do have a few in mind. My short-term goals include getting a well paying job within 3 months of graduating along with an apartment and being able to completely support myself without any help from family. Within a year I hope to be contributing a healthy portion of income to a retirement fund. Medium term goals would be to have a house with some investments in stocks, bonds, and real-estate and to be debt free by the time I’m 30. I would also love to spend some time studying for my masters in a foreign country also. Long-term on top of being financial stable would be to help young girls (in the form of a non-profit) ages 16-30 who are not financially well off by providing them with makeovers ranging from prom to finding a job.
2) Using full sentences again in your posts, now define your CAREER goals and then classify them as to whether they are short-, medium-, or long-term goals (job title, industry, geographic area you hope to be working in, salary goals, management responsibilities).

Career goals as I mentioned before getting a well paying job within 3 months of graduating probably in finance/venture capital. (Short to medium term) If I could stay in Boston I would absolutely be thrilled but I always tell myself keep an open mind and go wherever theres a job available. If I could start off making around $50,000 a year that would be ideal and working directly with investors and big deals would be great too. Eventually (long term) though I want to get my masters and take the series 7 and others to go into wealth management and help others management their retirement, college funds, and investments – something that I have experienced first hand in my family and I loved it.

My internship goal short term is to be able to build a DCF by the end of the month with complete confidence so that they can eventually use me in deals with investors. I would also like to get more involved with meetings and acquisitions the firm does and then eventually leave the firm with good standing and move on with confidence in my abilities as a financial analyst. I hope to be perceived as someone with confidence and dependability eventually.
